Not a Sleepy Adventure at Duka Bay #2

November 22, 2009, two days after my birthday when we had our field trip at Duka Bay Resort  in celebration of our Science Month. The said trip was organized by the Science Club officers and teachers for the students to have a break in their studies and to have fun despite the hectic schedule that we experienced those days. In connection to the trip, our biology teacher gave us an assignment which was to name and to get pictures of the creatures that we will be seeing in the sea.

Many things were prepared for the trip so that it would be a successful one. Like the budget, as early as September, the total expenses was already summed up so we did not worry anymore on that matter. There was no problem also in terms of transportation because the school already rented vans for us to use.

Before the departure from Iligan to Duka
The assembly time in our school was at 4am and departed at almost 6am. The chaperon for our van was our class adviser so we did not have a hard time in coping up because we already knew her. We also called the assigned driver for our van as "manong driver" because we already forgotten his name after introducing. My best friend was seated next to me so I had someone to talk to and I was not bored. My classmates were noisy inside the van so I did not fall asleep. There were also stopovers because of our other batchmates who really needed to pee.

Corals we saw using the glass-bottomed boats
sand castle-making activity
We arrived at Duka Bay at already 8 or 9 in the morning yet we can't deny the excitement that we felt when we saw the sea. We were then introduced to the VIPs in the resort by the Lantaw staff and it was explained that "duka" which means sleepy in our varnacular was where Duka Bay got its name from. We were grouped randomly by the number that the Lantaw staff gave before we departed from Iligan. We were also given activities and games while the others were already in the sea; snorkeling and kayaking. The games that were given by the Lantaw staff were already finished and it was already our time to go kayaking. We were then asked to get a partner and I already have one.

Kayaking
I really felt good kayaking together with my partner even though we lost against the other team. After the kayak racing, we headed next to snorkeling. There were so many kinds of fish that we saw and we named a few them. We were able to feed them and almost touch their skins. We also saw the different corals with different structures and shapes that laid underneath the sea through the glass- bottomed boats. I was somehow scared of that glass-bottomed boats because I thought that it would be broken anytime but my fear was gone when I had the life-jacket given to me.

The trip was tiring but it was great. For me, that was the best field trip in high school that I experienced. I bonded with my classmates and almost all of my batchmates. I really had a great time seeing those fishes, corals and everything.

Something about ME #1

An asset is something that catches other people's attention or the thing that they like about you.We all know that all of us are special and unique in every way.But my best asset? Well, I really don't have an idea about what's with me that seemed to be my best asset. Yet there must be an asset of mine that seems to stand out. So I must know what this asset is by simply asking my friends.

I asked my friends and their answers were almost the same. I really appreciate the answers that they gave. It was really heart-warming. I was a bit flattered of their answers and I can't blame them. Those were their answers, not mine. That's what they see and what they like about me.

Some of my friends told me that my best asset is my eyes because according to them, it is nice, attractive, sparkly and that they can see my true beauty through looking into my eyes.

Some said that it's my ability to cheer people up because I have an attitude that when I'm not yet done with my goal which is to cheer people up, I'll never surrender until I'll see that they will be okay.

Some also said that it's my smile because it is demure, easily capture other people's attention and they said that I look cute when I smile. And I somehow found the answer to my question.

I think the best asset that I have is my smile. A smile which simply means happiness.Other people's days are brightened up whenever they see me smiling at them. That's what they say. It makes a person feel better. I really don't know why I always smile. It seems that it is there by nature. Though I get serious sometimes, I still manage to put a smile on my face.

My First.. :))

To tell you the truth, I really don't know how to blog. I don't know how to start and how to end a blog but for the sake of my grade, I must do it. :))
